So there I am, driving down Highway 39, when I see something large in the road up ahead. Thinking it s a shredded tire or something that flew off a truck bed, I slow down. As I approach, this thing comes into focus and soon I see it s a very, very large turtle making its way across the road.
Now, I have been friends with Candice Pace a girl from Pikeville whose grit and tender heart landed her at Auburn University so she could fulfill her dream of becoming a vet for quite a while now. And long ago, Candice told me she has never once passed a turtle in the road without stopping, picking it up and helping it across.

Car accidents can be a terrifying experience. Some may a simple exchange of information while others have to call in the Jaws of Life. One man in Tennessee, however, was able to escape from his wrecked vehicle unharmed after crashing into a pole last week.
WJHL, occurred April 22 in Bristol, near the Tennessee-Virginia border. That afternoon, a 2005 Toyota Corolla crashed into a utility pole on Stafford Street near Blountville Highway and ended up being suspended in mid-air by the wires. Surprisingly, the unidentified driver escaped the wreckage relatively unscathed. He is facing multiple charges stemming from the crash.

Texas has the second cheapest gas in the country according to AAA Texas. However, prices at the pump are still on the up. Not because of a shortage of crude oil or gasoline, but because there aren t enough truckers.
Many Texas drivers may have noticed the price for a gallon of regular unleaded is about a dollar higher than this time last year. AAA Texas says the difference is about $1.07. Much of the reason for the higher price a lack of qualified drivers. According to the National Tank Truck Carriers, between 20 and 25% of tanker trucks in a company’s fleet are just parked. Some companies like Sisu Energy in Fort Worth are having to raise a trucker’s salary to more than 12,000 dollars a week to stay competitive.
